Government of the most populous state in India, Uttar Pradesh in 2018 launched One District One Product Project with the aim of promoting indigenous products and crafts and their inclusion in the world market. One product was selected from each district and certified as characteristic of a particular region.
The central government of the Republic of India recognized this valuable project and in 2022 it was implemented in all federal states and territories. Now, more than 1000 products from 765 district are included in One district, One Product – Districts as Export Hub project.
The project aims to preserve traditional crafts, many of which were on the verge of disappearing, but also to improve the social and economic position of craftsmen.
The exhibition presents numerous handicrafts made of metal, paper, marble, terracotta, etc., which show the diversity of many Indian regions, all with regard to the availability of natural materials from which they are made.
