How to show children the sights and cultural heritage of a city without getting them bored?
One interesting answer to that question was given by the tourist agency Kastav.
It is a carefully designed product Find the golden petešić, which turns the tourist tour of Kastav into a game, focusing children’s attention on several important landmarks: Fortica, Gradska Loža, Voltica, Crekvina, Church of St. Jelena, Coopery collection, Museum collection of Kastav region, Lokvina, so the amount of information is moderate and age-appropriate. The children are divided into groups, each group a map of the city of Kastav, on which the most important monuments and museums are marked, as well as instructions on movement with questions and tasks to which the children find answers while visiting the city. Each group that moves according to the instructions finds the “golden rooster” on the last task and returns to the place from where it started with it and the answers. One of the ten questions leads the children to MZK. Sightseeing is not boring for them because it is related to the task they want to solve. Their attention is focused on several characteristic objects and their names in the Chakavian dialect: traversa, bucaleta, kikarica, raspa, box for lapis.
At the end of the competitive part, the students take a look at the collection, showing special interest in the items they had to look for in the game.
The museum supports projects like this and gladly participates in its realization.
