Small Museum of Fishing and Shipbuilding Kraljevica

Kraljevica Shipyard Model Ship Collection was donated to the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka on 11 December 2015. In April 2024, selected items were moved to the renovated part of the Nova Kraljevica – Frankopan Castle and are presented in the Small Museum of Fishing and Shipbuilding Kraljevica. The museum is located on the first floor of the Nova Kraljevica – Frankopan Castle. The collection consists of 30 ship models built at the Kraljevica Shipyard after World War II, but also contains models of sailing ships built in the 19th century. In addition to the models, the Collection also contains pictures of ships built at the Shipyard and some of the shipbuilding tools used at the Shipyard during the 19th and 20th centuries. The Kraljevica Shipyard was known for building the first ferries for the shipping company Jadrolinija and for building warships for the former Yugoslav and, since 1991, Croatian Navy. The collection of models is a protected cultural asset of the Republic of Croatia, registered in the Register of Cultural Assets of the Republic of Croatia. In the area of ​​the Museum’s tower, there is a collection of objects that show the fishing tradition of the Kraljevica region, such as spears, fishing rods, hooks, ferals, lines, nets, longlines, etc.
