    Governor’s Palace – Museum seat

    How do I get there?

    You can come to the Museum on foot, by car or bus.

    On foot

    From downtown, from the Korzo and surrounding streets, cross Trg 128. brigade Hrvatske vojske square and take Stube Crvenoga križa steps to Supilova street. Turn left at the intersection of Supilova and Ulica žrtava fašizma streets to the crosswalk. After crossing the street, turn right toward the entrance to the Museum’s garden.

    By car

    From the easterly direction, take Janka Polića Kamova, Strossmayerova and Ivana Grohovca streets to Ulica žrtava fašizma street. At the first right enter Trg Riccarda Zanelle square, where the Museum is located.
    From the westerly direction, take Krešimirova street to Riva street. At the first possible left turn enter Splitska street and turn left at the traffic light onto Jadranski trg square, keeping to the right side. Turn right at the traffic light and enter Erazma Barčića street. Take that street to the first possible right turn and enter Frana Kurelca street. Continue until the turn into Supilova street, then take that street until the intersection with Ulica žrtava fašizma street. At the intersection, keep right while turning left into Ulica žrtava fašizma street and at the traffic light turn right into Trg Riccarda Zanelle square, where the Museum is located.

    By bus

    Take city bus no. 3 from Delta to Strossmayerova street, and pass Ivana Grahovca and Ulica žrtava fašizma streets. At the intersection with Pomerio street disembark from the bus and turn right toward the entrance to the Museum’s garden.

    Parking

    No parking is allowed on the Museum’s grounds. You may park opposite the Museum’s building.
    Visitors may also park in the nearby garage at Zagrad A or B, from which one can reach Pomerio street from Ivana Pavla II street and the steps on Erazma Barčića street. Turn right to reach the crosswalk, then right again to Trg Riccarda Zanelle square, where the Museum is located.

    Entrance

    The Museum’s garden is entered through the wrought-iron gate, while a paved carriageway without physical barriers leads to the Museum’s entrance. Climb a single step to enter the Museum.
    If you experience difficulty entering, press the button for the bell on the right side of the entrance door, adapted to persons in wheelchairs.

    Admissions desk

    The admissions desk and information and sales counter are situated to the right of the entrance. Admission passes and museum publications and souvenirs can be purchased here, and you can pick up brochures and a map of the Museum in Croatian or English to make it easier to navigate the permanent display.

    Exhibition hall – permanent display

    The permanent display is installed on the ground level and first and second floors of the Palace. The Lapidarium is in the Museum’s garden, while a part of the permanent display is also held in the Miracle Room workshop.

    Exhibition halls on ground level and first floor

    Besides brochures, the Museum map and the labels in the display areas, visitors can also use the information boards in the permanent display on the first floor. The information on these boards is in Croatian and English.

    Visitors also have at their disposal the audio guide “Tia Travels Through 120 Years of the Governor’s Palace” in Croatian and English. It is primarily intended for children and is tied to the former residential sections occupied by Rijeka’s governors.

    Restroom

    The restroom is on the first floor and is not disability accessible.

    Persons with impaired mobility

    Persons with impaired mobility can enter the Museum by prior arrangement at its northern side with the help of a staff member. Due to the narrow stairway, persons with impaired mobility can only tour the displays on the ground level and first floor.
    Persons in wheelchairs who do not want to tour the Museum on their own may seek assistance from the staff.
    The Museum does not have a lift.

    Blind, seeing-impaired and blind and deaf persons

    The permanent display – with the exception of the “Claustra +” educational info point – is not adapted to blind, seeing impaired or blind and deaf persons.

    Persons with developmental and learning disabilities

    Special guided tours and creative workshops may be arranged for persons with developmental and learning disabilities.

    Audio guide

    The audio guide in Croatian and English is called “Tia Travels Through 120 Years of the Governor’s Palace.”

    Lipa Remembers Memorial Centre

    How do I get there?

    You can travel to the Memorial Centre by car or bus.

    By car

    Depart from Rijeka on Prvoga maja or Tizianova streets to Osječka street. At the Škurinje intersection turn left toward Opatija and take road E61. Before Rupa turn right to Lipa.

    By bus

    Suburban bus line no. 30 goes to Lipa. The first stop is at Delta, in the heart of Rijeka, and the final stop is Lipa. After leaving the bus, it is a roughly 100 m, slightly uphill walk to the Memorial Centre’s building.

    Parking

    Parking is allowed in the immediate vicinity of the Memorial Centre.

    Entrance

    The Memorial Centre’s entrance is at street level, but is protected from the street by a two-meter long fence which must be bypassed at the entrance. When passing through the door watch out for a low step.

    Admission desk

    The admission desk and information and sales counter are situated in a separate room to the right of the entrance. Admission passes and publications may be purchased here, as well as all information on the display and occasional exhibitions.
    Admission with a guide dog is permitted.

    Exhibition hall – permanent display

    The labels in all exhibition halls are in Croatian and English.

    Restroom

    The restrooms are on the Memorial Centre’s ground floor; they are not disability accessible.

    Persons with impaired mobility

    Persons with impaired mobility may tour the display on the ground floor, which is all at the same level, but they may have difficulty viewing the exhibits in the basement and upper floor as they can only be accessed by stairs.
    The Memorial Centre has no lift.

    The permanent display is not adapted to blind, seeing impaired or blind and deaf persons

    Persons with developmental and learning disabilities

    Kastav Regional Museum Collection

    How do I get there?

    The Kastav Regional Museum Centre is in the old town core of Kastav at the address Prolaz Ivana iz Kastva 1.
    You can get to the Collection on foot, by car or bus.

    On foot

    Set off from the town cemetery down Matka Mandića street, cross Trg Matka Laginje square and then go through the town gate – ‘the little vault’ – after which you go left and take the stairs to the Collection.

    By car

    Depart from Rijeka on Prvoga maja or Tizianova streets to Osječka street. At the Škurinje intersection turn left toward Pula/Ljubljana/Trieste. Take road E61 to the Diračje intersection and then turn right toward Kastav. After arriving in the centre of Kastav, watch for signs to the public parking lot. The Collection is a short, easy uphill walk from the parking lot.

    By bus

    Suburban bus lines 18 and 18b from Rijeka and line 37 from Opatija go to Kastav. Disembark at Šporerova jama or Kastav cemetery stops, whence you can find the Collection by following signs to the town centre.

    Kraljevica Shipyard Model Collection

    How do I get there?

    The Collection is located in the Kraljevica Shipyard’s ceremonial hall. The Collection may be visited by appointment, and an identification document must be presented at the shipyard’s front gate.

    The Collection may be reached by car or bus.

    By car

    When arriving in Kraljevica, just south of the St. Nicholas Church there is a parking lot on the shore not far from the Shipyard.

    By bus

    Suburban bus lines no. 29 and 29a, which depart from Delta in Rijeka, stop in the centre of Kraljevica. The bus schedule can be found at:

    How do I get there?

    The Collection may be reached by car or bus.

    By car

    Take road E65 from Rijeka in the direction of Crikvenica/Zračna luka Otok Krk/Bakar/D8. At the traffic circle, take the exit for the Krk Bridge. Follow the signs and turn right toward Malinska and then continue on Dubašljanska street to another traffic circle and take the second exit toward Sv. Vid-Miholjice street.

    By bus

    The bus for Malinska departs from the bus station at Žabica in Rijeka. After disembarking from the bus in the centre of Malinska, it is a roughly 20 minute walk to the Collection, which is in the community of Sveti Vid-Miholjice.
