od 7. do 11. siječnja 2014. radionice

The workshops are intended for children of pre-school and elementary school ages, and in them, alongside the guidance of the curators and students from the Philosophy and Teaching Faculties and the Academy of Applied Arts, through play and practical work they gain knowledge about the local heritage. The workshop lasts 5 days, every day for 2 school hours. The number of attendees is limited, and for participation it is necessary to book in advance. The application form for children is completed by a parent or guardian and once signed is handed to the museum’s management. The application can also be completed on the website www.ppmhp.hr.
The price of the workshop is 50 kuna, and should be paid in cash on the first day of the programme.
In the case that the number of applicants is insufficient for holding the workshop then it will not be held.


1. Karolina workshop
Time: 8.30am – 10am
Leader: Tea Perinčić, curator
Collaborators: Andrea Zubović and Marina Koprivnikar
Description: The aim of this workshop is to bring children closer to one part of the local history and the most important people who participated in its creation. The activities included in the workshop are independent work, games and stories. Attendees will create their own pawns in the form of lady and soldier from the beginning of the 19th century and a game board with dice which is based on the story of Karolina of Rijeka.

2. Workshop of old games
Times: 10.30am – 12pm
Leader: Tamara Mataija, curator
Collaborators: Helga Paškvan and Ivana Pađan
Description: In this workshop the attendees will investigate playing: the basics of investigative work will be introduced, alongside the guidance of a curator, questionnaires will be created, examinations conducted and conclusions made. They will also make a little catalogue of old games, they will learn to play them and on the last day of the workshop they will present them.

3. When I grow up I want to be … a curator
Times: 12.30pm – 2pm
Leader: Tamara Mataija, curator
Collaborators: Mirjam Milohanić and Antonela Grgić
Description: Through play and practical work, which includes research, the protection and presentation of the museum’s objects, and then items that they bring from home, the attendees will become accustomed to the profession of the curator and the business that the curator carries out in the museum. At the end of the workshop there will be an exhibition at which items which they have brought from home, as in a real museum exhibition, will be exhibited by attendees of the workshop.

4. Pre-history in this region
Time: 2.30pm – 4pm
Leader: Tonka Kružić
Collaborators: Sara Ivančan, Suzana Novaković
Description: Through play and practical work, that includes the making of pre-historic implements and decorated and utilitarian objects methods and techniques of decoration which were used in pre-historic times, attendees are introduced to everyday life in the past, studying the museum’s pre-historic items and a map of pre-historic archaeological sites. The produced items will be presented at an exhibition on the last day of the workshop, after which the attendees can take them home as souvenirs and mementos. Download the application form here –>
