On the occasion of the Energy Renovation of the Governor’s Palace in Rijeka, the Rijeka Maritime and Historical Museum of the Croatian Littoral opens the exhibition “Governor’s Palace – at the start of a new beginning”. The history of the Governor’s Palace is shown on twenty plaques placed on pedestals on Korzo – from the old palace built in 1780 between Korzo and today’s Adamić Street to the opening of the new Governor’s Palace in 1896 and up to the present day when the former Governor’s Palace is the seat of the Maritime and Historical Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka. The exhibition shows the palace’s changes in its 128-year history, as well as the shift from a political to a cultural function. The renovation that follows the Governor’s Palace is the first comprehensive renovation after 86 years and the renovation in 1938 during the Italian rule in Rijeka.
The exhibition was created with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County
