\n\u2018Mountain of Culture\u2019 is a project that links cultural institutions that foster the same or similar values and which, each in its own way, deals with heritage \u2013 cultural, cultural-historical, natural, archival, literary, theatrical or musical \u2013 or with the restoration of the movable and stationary heritage. Through the synergy of all participants, the project\u2019s goal is to offer themes and events to Rijeka residents and all lovers of culture that will occasionally \u2013 in search of new audiences \u2013 depart from comfort zones by bringing together the apparently incompatible, in order to contribute to an active perception of culture, underscore its significance in everyday life and make it so that heritage and care for it become a part of the culture of living for all of our citizens.
\nIn just under a month and in over twenty-five different programmes intended for a diversity of interests, knowledge levels and ages, the hill on which the Governor\u2019s Palace (i.e., the Museum and its garden) rests will become a place for meetings, entertainment, exchanges of experiences, socializing and learning from each other, a place to gain new insights that will reinforce old friendships and foster new ones and at which heritage will be presented in a new, leisurely and playful manner.
\nExhibitions and dancing, performances and lectures, guided tours and children\u2019s workshops and so much more will underscore the accessibility of heritage content and its significance, but also the need to appreciate and safeguard heritage as inestimably valuable evidence of our own identity.<\/p>\n

\nThe exhibition features the parallel presentation of objects in the Museum\u2019s collection that originally came from Japan in the 19th and 20th centuries and stories from contemporary travellers about their experience of Japan, supplemented with their photographs and souvenirs.<\/p>\n

\nThe exhibition presents aids for the blind and visually impaired which the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Association of the Blind donated to the Museum. The exhibition also displays the handicrafts and artworks made by the Association\u2019s members.<\/p>\n
MIRACLE ROOM
\nThe workshops for young creators are held in the Miracle Room at the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka and in the Museum\u2019s garden. Educational programmes are also being held at the remote collections.<\/p>\n
PROGRAMME
\nBIRTHDAY IN THE MUSEUM
\nEducational birthday workshops in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka are aimed at children aged 4 to 12. The workshops are thematic, and the celebrants can choose from six available themes: \u2018Masquerade Ball,\u2019 \u2018The Trsat Dragon,\u2019 \u2018On-board Emergency,\u2019 \u2018Unusual Form,\u2019 \u2018Challenge Trail,\u2019 and \u2018Treasure Hunt.\u2019
\nThe programme will proceed in the Museum\u2019s premises. Must be arranged in advance.<\/p>\n
MIRACLE ROOM ON THE ROAD
\nMiracle Room on the Road is intended for children from distant schools, so that they can more easily participate in educational and creative programmes tied to the Museum\u2019s inventory and content, as well as segments of the local cultural and historical heritage.<\/p>\n
