Through various activities, such as educational and creative workshops, exhibitions and concerts, the Museum is joining all of those who, each in their own way, contribute to the beauty and joy of this singular time of year. And not just that. Participants have decided to mark the holiday season with humanitarian work, so they devised the creative humanitarian project \u201cMuseum with a Heart,\u201d aimed at gathering financial assistance for the DIRA Rijeka Association for Assistance to Developmentally Impaired Children and the Promotion of Harmonic Development of Children and Youth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MORNING IN THE MUSEUM <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>WORKSHOP<\/strong><br \/>\nElven Rijeka<br \/>\nconceived by: Iva Volovi\u0107<br \/>\n<strong>location, date and time: Museum, 9-10 December, 10 a.m. \u2013 12 p.m.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe workshop is meant for children aged 6 to 12, and participation is the Museum\u2019s Christmas gift!<br \/>\nApply: by sending a message to the Miracle Room (\u010cudotvornica) Facebook page, by e-mail: cudotvornica@ppmhp.hr or telephone at +385 51 553666.<\/p>\n<p>We have entered the happiest, most enchanting and \u2013 given the quantity of anticipated treats \u2013 sweetest month of the year. To spend even more time together, this month for Morning in the Museum we will spend two days together in the Museum\u2019s Miracle Room!<br \/>\nParticipants in creative workshops will get to know Rijeka\u2019s loveliest palaces, and nothing less than mischievous elves will also attend the workshop to ensure that they don\u2019t get bogged down in the historical details. They will turn Rijeka into a city of elves who will peer through the windows of palaces with colourful fa\u00e7ades, glittering sequins and every imaginable Christmas decoration. The workshop participants will thus become architects and builders of \u201cYuletide Rijeka,\u201d and their works will be displayed in an exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKSHOP<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>SYLVAN CHRISTMAS<\/strong><br \/>\nconceived by: Iva Volovi\u0107<br \/>\n<strong>dates: 11, 12 and 13 December<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of the educational programme \u201cMiracle Room on the Road,\u201d the creative workshop \u201cSylvan Christmas\u201d will be held in schools near the Museum and our branch collection in Kastav. Our little participants will find interesting shapes and materials, and perhaps even holiday colours, in the forest! Using natural materials such as pinecones, wood, twigs, etc., they will make Christmas ornaments intended for charity sales. Everything is ready! Only good will, creative nimble fingers and maybe a few Christmas carols are all that is expected.<br \/>\nEverything produced in the workshops will be displayed in a charity sale exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKSHOP<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>WOOLLEN CHRISTMAS<\/strong><br \/>\nconceived by: Iva Volovi\u0107<br \/>\nlocation: Kantrida Home for the Elderly<br \/>\n<strong>dates: 13 and 15 December 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Museum\u2019s Miracle Room is taking its educational content \u201con the road\u201d for this occasion, to the Kantrida Home for the Elderly, where participants will make Christmas ornaments by dry felting sheep\u2019s wool. They will set off for a care-free holiday atmosphere while spending quality time with others, hearing interesting stories and engaging in productive work.<br \/>\nAll ornaments will be displayed in a charity sale exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHARITY SALE EXHIBITION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>CHRISTMAS FLASH<\/strong><br \/>\nconceived by: Iva Volovi\u0107, Denis Nepokoj<br \/>\n<strong>exhibition opens in the Museum\u2019s Atrium at 6 p.m. on 18 December<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The exhibition \u201cChristmas Flash\u201d marks the conclusion of the Museum\u2019s workshops with creative participants big and small who contributed to the \u201cMuseum with a Heart\u201d humanitarian project and made Christmas ornaments intended for sale at workshops in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka, the Rijeka City Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Kantrida Home for the Elderly.<br \/>\nAll sales proceeds are intended for our fellow citizens who are most in need: the DIRA Rijeka Association for Assistance to Developmentally Impaired Children and the Promotion of Harmonic Development of Children and Youth.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition of artworks made by participants in the \u201cElven Rijeka\u201d workshop and the Little Museum Atelier led by art instructor Larisa Dragelj will be open at the same time. All of them have transformed Rijeka into a city of elves and put it on display in the exhibition. What our city would look like if it were taken over by elves can be seen in this intriguing, playful and imaginative exhibition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EXHIBITION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>CELEBRATING IRELAND\u2019S ARCHAEOLOGICAL HERITAGE<\/strong><br \/>\norganizers: Archaeological Museum in Zagreb and Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka<br \/>\nconceived by: Michael MacDonagh, chief archaeologist in Ireland\u2019s National Monument Service, John Lalor, photographer in Ireland\u2019s National Monument Service<br \/>\ncollaborator: Porin \u0160\u0107ukanec Rezni\u010dek, research associate at the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb and exhibition curator<br \/>\n<strong>exhibition will remain open until 19 January 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This photographic exhibition features approximately thirty of Ireland\u2019s most relevant archaeological monuments, landscapes and historical buildings that have been highlighted from the almost 12 thousand years of human habitation on the island.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MIRACLE ROOM<\/strong><br \/>\nThe workshops for young creators are held in the Miracle Room at the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka and in the Museum\u2019s garden. Educational programmes are also being held at the remote collections.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAMME <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>BIRTHDAY IN THE MUSEUM<\/strong><br \/>\nEducational birthday workshops in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka are aimed at children aged 4 to 12. The workshops are thematic, and the celebrants can choose from six available themes: \u2018Masquerade Ball,\u2019 \u2018The Trsat Dragon,\u2019 \u2018On-board Emergency,\u2019 \u2018Unusual Form,\u2019 \u2018Challenge Trail,\u2019 and \u2018Treasure Hunt.\u2019<br \/>\nThe programme will proceed in the Museum\u2019s premises.
