The history of Kastav and the wider environs (Kastav\u0161tina) is presented in the permanent display in three thematic units: The Origin of Kastav, Culture and Education in Kastav\u0161tina, and Life on the Border.<br \/>\nThe first theme presents the emergence of the initial settlement and the development of the town of Kastav over time. The second is dedicated to education, Kastav\u2019s cultural associations and the era of the national awakening in Kastav\u0161tina. The third highlights the partition of the region after the First World War and its plight in the Second World War and the casualties suffered by many Kastav natives in fascist and Nazi camps.<br \/>\nThe exhibition \u201cFrom the Museum\u2019s Time Machine\u201d will be installed in the foyer, presenting the Collection\u2019s first opening in 1981.<br \/>\nThe project has been financed by the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the Town of Kastav.<\/p>\n<p>EXHIBITION<br \/>\nILLUSTRATIONS OF EXHIBITS PRESENTED IN THE LITTLE MUSEUM ENCYCLOPAEDIA<br \/>\nartwork by: pupils from the Belveder, Brajda, Fran Frankovi\u0107, Klana, Podmurvice and Srdo\u010di Primary Schools, and participants in the Little Museum Atelier\/MuMa and the LIADA Art and Research Atelier for Gifted Primary School Pupils<br \/>\nexhibition conceived by: Denis Nepokoj<br \/>\nset-up: Dino Markovi\u0107, Darko Takali\u0107<br \/>\nThe exhibition remains open until 8 January 2023<br \/>\nThe exhibition is part of the Little Museum Encyclopaedia Project that presents artworks\/illustrations of materials featured in the encyclopaedia. The project was implemented as a collaboration between the Museum and the Belveder, Brajda, Fran Frankovi\u0107, Klana, Podmurvice and Srdo\u010di Primary Schools, as well as participants in the Little Museum Atelier\/MuMa and the LIADA Art and Research Atelier for Gifted Primary School Pupils, bringing together creative writing, artistic expression and history in the study of the materials on exhibit in the museum\u2019s permanent display.<\/p>\n<p>EXHIBITION<br \/>\nOUTBOARD MOTORS FROM KOPER<br \/>\norganizer: Rijeka Technical Culture Community<br \/>\npartners: Technical Museum of Slovenia, Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka<br \/>\nconceived by: Boris Brovinsky<br \/>\nthe exhibition \u2013 by prior arrangement with the Technical Culture Centre \u2013 can be viewed in the premises of the former Python Club until 7 January 2023<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition presents the most important exemplars of Tomos product line, as well as certain models that were ready for the market in the 1990s but did not make it to serial production after the latter was halted.<\/p>\n<p>EXHIBITION<br \/>\nCHILDHOOD BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN<br \/>\norganizers: Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka and Peek&amp;Poke Rijeka<br \/>\nconceived by: Tea Perin\u010di\u0107 and Svetozar Nilovi\u0107<br \/>\ndisplay design: Vera Ru\u017ei\u0107 \u2013 Kabinet 13<br \/>\nthe exhibition will remain open until 15 May 2023<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition \u201cChildhood Behind the Iron Curtain\u201d takes us back to the 1970s and 1980s and halts at the brink of our childhood world\u2019s collapse, a time of \u201cgreat longing\u201d for the material goods from the other side of the \u201ccurtain.\u201d This exhibition is about children, who grew up under the sway of Josip Broz Tito\u2019s cult of personality, but also under the influence of Western European and American heroes from comics, cartoons and movies.<\/p>\n<p>NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2023<br \/>\nThe Museum will mark this year\u2019s Night at the Museum event under the slogan \u201cMuseums are Important\u201d with a diverse programme that will include a presentation of the book \u201cThe Battle of Vis in Light of Naval Armaments\u201d by Branko Belamari\u0107, Ph.D., and the opening of the guest exhibition \u201cVeze\/Legami [Bonds] \u2013 Istrians After the Second World War,\u201d conceived by Tamara Nikoli\u0107 \u0110eri\u0107 and Lidija Niko\u010devi\u0107 from the Ethnographic Museum of Istria, as well as guided tours through the museum and children\u2019s workshops.<\/p>\n<p>MIRACLE ROOM<br \/>\nThe workshops for young creators are held in the Miracle Room at the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka and in the Museum\u2019s garden. Educational programmes are also being held at the remote collections.<\/p>\n<p>MORNING IN THE MUSEUM<br \/>\nWORKSHOP<br \/>\nHUGS<br \/>\nworkshop leader: Iva Volovi\u0107<br \/>\ndate and time: 21 January 2023, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.<br \/>\nThe workshop is intended for children aged 5 to 10, and adapted to children with disabilities and developmental impairments. It is dedicated to International Hugging Day, which is observed on 21 January. The workshops are thematic, and the celebrants can choose from six available themes: \u2018Masquerade Ball,\u2019 \u2018The Trsat Dragon,\u2019 \u2018On-board Emergency,\u2019 \u2018Unusual Form,\u2019 \u2018Challenge Trail,\u2019 and \u2018Treasure Hunt.\u2019<br \/>\nThe programme will proceed in the Museum\u2019s premises.
