{"id":245580,"date":"2022-11-08T11:01:43","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T10:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/danuncijada-na-otoku-krku\/"},"modified":"2024-01-23T09:39:03","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T08:39:03","slug":"danuncijada-na-otoku-krku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/en\/danuncijada-na-otoku-krku\/","title":{"rendered":"The D\u2019annunziad on the island of Krk"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>organizers: Association of Antifascist Veterans and Antifascists of the Island of Krk and the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka<br \/>\nconceived by: Tvrtko Bo\u017ei\u0107, Tea Perin\u010di\u0107<br \/>\nThe exhibition can be viewed until 4 December 2022<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition encompasses the period from the end of the First World War to 25 April 1921, when the Italian poet and ultra-nationalist Gabriele D&#8217;Annunzio, leading his legionnaires and Arditi, entered the city of Rijeka, set up a government and established the Italian Regency of Carnaro, which also encompassed the island of Krk.<br \/>\nThe Arditi reign of terror on Krk was characterized by brutality against local residents, looting of their property, campaigns of intimidation and armed assaults against certain towns on Krk (Punat and Dobrinj). The \u2018Bloody Christmas\u2019 of 1920 is still vivid in the collective memory of Ba\u0161ka\u2019s residents. The fiercest opposition to the Arditi was mounted by the residents of Punat when defending their community.
