As one of the most important and oldest Croatian noble families, the Frankopans left numerous testimonies of their activities, movable and immovable cultural assets. The most visible sign of their rule are the numerous cities and fortresses they built. Already automatically, thanks to the project “Cultural-Tourist Route with the Ways of Frankopan”, we connect the history of about twenty well-known places, especially in the area of \u200b\u200bthe islands of Krka, Vinodol and Gorski kotar, with that famous family, although it can be said that there are almost no places east of the Rje\u010dina, south from Kupa and west of Cetina, without somehow talking about Frankopans.<\/p>\n
The exhibition uses visual material from the holdings of the Maritime and Historical Museum of the Croatian Littoral in Rijeka – maps, plans, books, postcards, historical photos and graphics presents Franco-Opland properties from the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and reminds us of their changes over the past hundred years, recorded by the lens of a camera and preserved in numerous reproductions. The exhibition points to the importance of visual materials, which, in addition to cultural-historical and artistic ones, also have immeasurable documentary significance and are among the most significant sources in the study of the remains of immovable cultural heritage.<\/p>\n
The virtual exhibition “Frankopan towns and forts from the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County on historical photographs and postcards” was realized as part of the program marking the 350th anniversary of the death of Petr Zrinski and Frana Krsta Frankopan, who were executed in 1671 in Vienna’s Novome Mjest, and was financed by the Ministry of . culture and media of the Republic of Croatia, the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and the City of Rijeka.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
