EXHIBITION<\/strong>
\nNEW ACQUISITIONS OF THE CIVIC MUSEUM COLLECTION<\/strong>
\norganizers: Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka, Civic Museum Council
\nExhibition will remain open until 20 February 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the exhibition \u201cNew Acquisitions of the Civil Museum Collection,\u201d the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka is publicly presenting exponents that citizens have suggested and chosen for the Civic Museum Collection following the second Public Call for the Proposal of Exponents for the Civic Museum Collection, under the slogan \u201cHow Do We Want to Be Remembered?\u201d
\nThe Public Call was posted by the Museum\u2019s Civic Museum Council, and from 6 April through 30 September 2021 citizens sent proposals via the internet for exponents that will become part of the collection.
\nThe Civic Museum Council (CMC) was established in January 2019, making the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka the first in Croatia to include the community in its work, implement the practice of participatory management in museums, initiate democratization, intensify its adaptation to the community\u2019s needs and begin to approach its collection activities differently.
\nAfter establishing the Civic Museum Collection, which is co-created by members of the public, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka began to gather exponents that will help future generations interpret and contextualize the times in which we live today.
\nFor the Civic Museum Collection this year, citizens selected:
\n1) Awards to the volunteers for the European Capital of Culture 2020;
\n2) A feature report aired by Kanal Ri on the heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic;
\n3) An emergency services badge and photograph of a first aid kit from the 1950s
\n4) The online programme of the Croatian Culture Hall in Su\u0161ak;
\n5) An empty COVID-19 vaccine vial \u2013 Rijeka Clinical Hospital Centre<\/p>\n

The exhibition also presents two proposals that did not become a part of the collection: \u201cZooming\u201d and the video \u2018Modra\u2019 in which Ivan Banovi\u0107\u2019s footage shows Rijeka during the full lockdown in 2020.<\/p>\n

EXHIBITION<\/strong>
\nGET TO KNOW THE FRANKOPANS<\/strong>
\norganizers: On Frankopan Paths Culture and Tourism Route, Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka
\nExhibition will remain open until 20 March 2022<\/strong>
\nFrom Dujam to Fran Krsto, from Krk to Wiener Neustadt, from 1118 to 1671\u2026 Over five and half centuries of Croatia history are inconceivable without the Frankopans. There were no major social and political functions that they did not perform; they were counts, royal governors, viceroys and warriors, patrons of the arts, poets, and finally political revolutionaries seeking a better world. Law codes, charters and other major cultural documents recorded in the Croatian language in Glagolitic script remain in their wake. A series of 114 Frankopans in 17 generations have been recorded in their genealogy.
\nThe exhibition shows only a miniscule part of their story; one must go \u2018On Frankopan Paths\u2019 to see the rest.<\/p>\n

VALENTINE\u2019S DAY
\nCONTEST
\nANA & PETAR, TIMELESS LOVERS
\nTo observe Valentine\u2019s Day, the Day of Lovers, the On Frankopan Paths Culture and Tourism Route has organized a creative activity aimed at children aged 7 to 12, who are invited to participate in the contest called \u2018Ana & Petar, Timeless Lovers\u2019.<\/p>\n

The competition is based on one of the most touching love stories in history, that of Ana Katarina Frankopan and Petar Zrinski. Among the many stories about the lives of these best known noble families, the Zrinskis and Frankopans, it has always been a source of inspiration, and the farewell letter from Peter Zrinski to his wife Ana Katarina, which he sent on the eve of his execution, is deemed the loveliest of all love letters ever written in the Croatian language.
\nAnd this is why the youngest friends of the Route are invited to take inspiration from this love story and write their own love letter to someone special \u2013 real or imagined.
\nThe contest will be posted on the social media pages of the On Frankopan Paths Culture and Tourism Route on 1 February 2022, and the names of the two winners will be announced on 14 February 2022.<\/p>\n

MIRACLE ROOM<\/strong>
\nIn compliance with the instructions issued by the National Civil Protection Administration pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka has launched the work of its Miracle Room. Educational programmes are held outdoors on the terrace of eastern annex of the Governor\u2019s Palace, in front of the Miracle Room and in the gardens, weather permitting, and in the Marble Hall in case of inclement weather. Based on the criteria for maintaining physical distance, a maximum of 10 workshop participants may be in the Marble Hall of the Governor\u2019s Palace.<\/p>\n

Educational programmes tied to the remote Museum locations are also held in compliance with effective epidemiological measures, and any changes to the Museum\u2019s work with visitors are posted on its web pages and reported by the media.<\/p>\n

BIRTHDAY IN THE MUSEUM<\/strong>
\nEducational birthday workshops in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka are aimed at children aged 4 to 12. The workshops are thematic, and the celebrants can choose from six available themes: \u2018Masquerade Ball,\u2019 \u2018The Trsat Dragon,\u2019 \u2018On-board Emergency,\u2019 \u2018Unusual Form,\u2019 \u2018Challenge Trail,\u2019 and \u2018Treasure Hunt.\u2019
\nThe programme will proceed in the Museum\u2019s premises and has been adapted to comply with recommendations for combating the spread of coronavirus infection.
\nMust be arranged in advance.<\/p>\n
