{"id":12042,"date":"2021-08-27T14:31:30","date_gmt":"2021-08-27T12:31:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/web\/2021\/08\/27\/events-in-september-4\/"},"modified":"2021-08-27T14:31:30","modified_gmt":"2021-08-27T12:31:30","slug":"events-in-september-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/en\/events-in-september-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Events in September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka made the Decision on Temporary Organization of Operations of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka in compliance with the prevailing measures instituted pursuant to the declaration of the COVID-19 epidemic.<br \/>\nThe Museum has joined the campaign launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Croatian Tourism Board, and obtained the \u201cSafe Stay in Croatia\u201d designation, which highlights it as a museum in which all health and safety protocols are enforced during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it a safe and desirable destination. Thanks to the \u201cSafe Stay in Croatia\u201d designation, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka and its remote locations, the Kastav Regional Museum Collection, Lipa Remembers Memorial Centre, Kraljevica Shipyard Model Collection, and the Cickini Archaeological Collection are safe places to visit.<br \/>\nThe Museum is also a partner with the Central State Demography and Youth Office of the Republic of Croatia in the IT programme e-Dje\u010dja kartica (children\u2019s e-card) and the mobile app Mudrica, which includes features for both parents and children when they visit the Museum. The app is free of charge, and it offers many benefits, such as free admission for children from a single family when the parents purchase tickets, a single admission pass for all three museum locations, free admission for parents whose children are participating in workshops and a 50 % discount on children\u2019s publications.<br \/>\nEvery Thursday, admission to the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka in the Governor\u2019s Palace, and in the Kastav Regional Museum Collection and the Lipa Remembers Memorial Centre, is free of charge.<br \/>\nTHE GOVERNOR&#8217;S PALACE<br \/>\nTrg Riccarda Zanelle 1, Rijeka<br \/>\nHours: Mon: 9 a.m. \u2013 4 p.m., Tue-Sat: 9 a.m. \u2013 8 p.m., Sun: 9 a.m. \u2013 1 p.m.<br \/>\nClosed on holidays.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/\">http:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/<\/a><br \/>\nOnly fifteen visitors are allowed in the Museum at the same time.<br \/>\nEXHIBITION<br \/>\nDON\u2019T GET SNAGGED BY O&#8217;REEF<br \/>\norganizer: Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka<br \/>\nexhibition conceived by: Jelenko Ujdur\/Koraljko Greben<br \/>\n<strong>opening: premises of the former Python Club (eastern wing of the Governor\u2019s Palace) on 8 September 2021 at 7 p.m.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe opening and the number of persons attending will comply with epidemiological measures.<br \/>\n<strong>the exhibition will remain open until 8 October 2021<\/strong><br \/>\nThe premises of the former Python Club in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka will host Jelenko Ujdur, known under the artistic name Koraljko Greben (\u2018Coral O\u2019Reef\u2019), a young artist from Metkovi\u0107 who will present his recent artistic creations in various media \u2013 sculpture, relief carvings, photographs and street art \u2013 to the public in Rijeka.<br \/>\nNik\u0161a Margeta wrote the following about Jelenko Ujdur, alias Koraljko Greben:<br \/>\nKoraljko Greben modulates the overlap between the delightful and the discarded, which he reformulates in his own unique idiom, because he has a powerful urge to recycle reality. He processes change enriched by criticism of what is decreed. He shapes by means of message, point, topical content\u2026 Such bearings also warrant expression in street style. It is as though the artistic forms conveyed by sculpture and picture no longer sustain, so the ensuing spiritual disquiet leads to an explicitly external mode of communication, penetrating toward the urban embellishment of the architectural in a visual mega street-art trend unique to him. When he refreshes a sunken fa\u00e7ade, when he nurtures and revives it; applies colour to this wailing wall \u2013 a wall that may soon no longer exist. When he struggles with the hydra of the social system and bureaucracy. When, shamed by a lack of environmental awareness, consumerism, globalist chic and general indifference to nature, he has to hide beneath the recycling of human nature and stupidity. (\u2026) Sometimes, I recognize in his works the tenets of the Biafra art group that, operating in Zagreb in the 1970s, attempted to make the question of contemporary humanism topical in the cultural and social sense; so even with Greben we can find expressive and engaged figuration, abstraction and naturalist methods. (\u2026) Koraljko Greben\u2019s creative paradigm is the criticism of implication, censure, and awareness-raising\u2026 By the same token, his creative aspirations question and prod the system\u2019s indifference and inefficacy, for it is sometimes impotent and inert in the face of art as narration, message or modification.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nEXHIBITION<br \/>\nI\u2019LL TELL YOU A STORY<br \/>\norganizer: Archaeological Museum in Zadar<br \/>\nconceived by: Timka Alihod\u017ei\u0107, senior curator<br \/>\n<strong>the exhibition remains open until 13 September 2021<\/strong><br \/>\nThe theme of this guest exhibition from the Archaeological Museum in Zadar is burial customs in the Zadar area in Antiquity. Based on the results of an anthropological analysis of grave goods, the exhibition\u2019s author attempted to reconstruct the lives of the people whose graves are presented. Each grave tells its own story, and by observing each of its components, from burial rites to the deposited goods, and then using a little imagination, one can evoke memories of the deceased individual if only for a moment. Believing that the deceased went on to the afterlife, the bereaved prepared various gifts for them, from basics such as money to pay for the journey and lamps to light the way, to more luxurious items such as expensive jewellery.
