The Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka made the Decision on Temporary Organization of Operations of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka in compliance with the prevailing measures pursuant to the declaration of the COVID-19 epidemic.
\nTHE GOVERNOR’S PALACE<\/strong>

\nOnly fifteen visitors are allowed in the Museum at the same time.
\nMIRACLE ROOM<\/strong>
\nIn compliance with the instructions issued by the National Civil Protection Administration pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka is resuming its operations in the Miracle Room.
\nUntil further notice, educational programmes will be held in the Marble Hall and, weather permitting in the warmer months, on the terrace of the eastern annex of the Governor\u2019s Palace, in front of the Miracle Room and in the garden.
\nEducational programmes tied to the Museum\u2019s remote branches, the Kastav Regional Museum Collection and the Lipa Remembers Memorial Centre will also be held in full compliance with the stipulated epidemiological measures.
\nBased on the required floor space to maintain physical distancing, not more than 3 persons can be in the Miracle Room at the same time, while a maximum of 10 persons may be in the Marble Hall at the same time for workshops, and 20 persons for lectures.
\nDuring these programmes, the stipulated COVID-19 protective measures will be observed, and the Museum will post all changes in our activities with visitors on its web pages and by press releases.

\nTo mark the World Theatre Day for Children and Young People, as well as the arrival of spring, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka is organizing a workshop that will transform the Museum\u2019s majestic palace into a stage for clever stories and creative characters that will be conceived and developed by workshop participants.
\nThe workshop will proceed under conditions that comply with the recommendations for halting the spread of COVID-19 infection. Upon arrival, parents\/guardians will register participants into a record log and their body temperature will be measured. Children will participate in the workshop unaccompanied, and due to the programme\u2019s duration, we suggest that they bring a packed lunch.
\nBIRTHDAY IN THE MUSEUM<\/strong>
\nEducational birthday workshops in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka are aimed at children aged 4 to 12. The workshops are thematic, and the celebrants can choose from six available themes: \u2018Masquerade Ball,\u2019 \u2018The Trsat Dragon,\u2019 \u2018On-board Emergency,\u2019 \u2018Unusual Form,\u2019 \u2018Challenge Trail,\u2019 and \u2018Treasure Hunt.\u2019

\nAs part of the TEMPUS international project being conducted in three pilot regions in Italy and Croatia, the virtual exhibition Fluxes, dedicated to the ports of Rijeka, Ravenna and Solin, has been posted on the project’s web platform.
\nThe exhibition underscores the historical aspect of the development of these ports and \u2013 across different eras \u2013 their impact on their immediate surroundings, the cities of which they are a part.
\nTEMPUS \u2013 TEMporary USes as start-up actions to enhance port (in)tangible heritage is a project that gathers nine partners from Croatia and Italy with the aim of regenerating abandoned urban port zones through the use of neglected cultural heritage. The project is aimed at linking the partner cities and their ports and creating new spaces for social life that will encourage creative business, as well as entrepreneurial initiatives in culture and tourism.
\nThe value of the project is \u20ac2,706,920.00, of which 85% is non-refundable, co-financed by the European Union through the transborder cooperation programme INTERREG V-A Italy-Croatia 2014-2020. Project implementation began on 1 January 2019 and continues to June 2022.

\nAs part of the programme for Rijeka 2020 \u2013 European Capital of Culture, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka presented an online exhibition: \u201cBorders: Between Order and Chaos.\u201d The exhibition deals with the problem of borders \u2013 real ones, the ones we impose upon ourselves or those imposed by our environment, way of life, traditions\u2026 Even though they still exist when we pay them no mind, we believe that the \u201cnew normal\u201d caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has made many people aware of certain borders we had never thought about before.
\nThe exhibition was funded by the City of Rijeka and Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

\nPart of the preliminary programme for the exhibition \u201cBorders \u2013 Between Order and Chaos\u201d includes the observance of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dr Franjo Kresnik (1869-1943), one of the greatest Cremonese lutherie experts of his time. Kresnik dedicated over 40 years to the study of bowed string instruments, particularly those made in the workshops of Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe Guarneri del Ges\u00f9.
\nA film was shot to accompany the exhibition \u201cViolins Beyond Borders\/Stradivari in Rijeka \u2013 Kresnik and Cremona,\u201d a joint presentation of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka and the Museo del Violino. Antonio Stradivari, Guiseppe Guarneri del Ges\u00f9 and Franjo Kresnik have left behind instruments which are admired to this day, while generations have enjoyed the music that they make. This is why we are calling on everyone to enjoy the music and this film that recalls our great fellow citizen.

\nThe exhibition is part of the European Capital of Culture 2020 programme The Age of Power, and it opened on 12 September 2019 to mark the one-hundredth anniversary of D\u2019Annunzio\u2019s occupation of Rijeka. The exhibition was set up as part of the permanent display on the first floor of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka. The exhibition\u2019s creators decided to portray the sixteen months of the dictatorship established in Rijeka by Gabriele D\u2019Annunzio, the Italian poet, soldier and nationalist, through the prism of women \u2013 in both the figurative and literal senses, through a cross-section of specific historical events and testimony and by presenting several works by Italian futurists which reflect the spirit of this era.
\nTo accompany the exhibition in the Museum, we have also provided our visitors with the possibility of virtual guidance through it.
