{"id":11871,"date":"2019-12-17T11:02:46","date_gmt":"2019-12-17T10:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/web\/2019\/12\/17\/events-in-january\/"},"modified":"2019-12-17T11:02:46","modified_gmt":"2019-12-17T10:02:46","slug":"events-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ppmhp.hr\/en\/events-in-january\/","title":{"rendered":"Events in January"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EXHIBITION<br \/>\n<strong>(IN)VISIBLE BORDERS<\/strong><br \/>\norganizer: Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka<br \/>\npartners: \u017dmergo Association, Kombinat Creative Collective, Centre for the Promotion of Talent, Primorje-Gorski Kotar Association of the Blind, and City of Rijeka Retiree Association<br \/>\nexhibition conceived by: members of the Civic Museum Council<br \/>\n<strong>exhibition opens in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka on 15 January 2020 at 7 p.m.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>the exhibition will remain open until 15 February 2020<\/strong><br \/>\nThe exhibition \u201c(In)visible Borders\u201d is the preliminary program for the exhibition \u201cBorders \u2013 Between Order and Chaos,\u201d the central event in the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka for Rijeka 2020 \u2013 European Capital of Culture.<br \/>\nThe exhibition is part of the project \u201cMuseum of the Future \u2013 the Civic Museum Council as the Model for Participatory Management\u201d which the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka is implementing with financial support from the European Social Fund. This museum project was fully conceived through the joint efforts of the Museum, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County and NGO partners. Their cooperation was prompted by the formation of the Civic Museum Council, in which member organizations work on the democratization of museums and direct their operations in line with community needs.<br \/>\nThrough the exhibition \u201c(In)visible Borders,\u201d the members of the Civic Museum Council are speaking out about the problems they encounter in their everyday work: those pertaining to the status of retirees and the reasons for their insufficient involvement in the life of our community, opening the complex theme of integration of the blind and seeing-impaired in society and the difficult working conditions endured by an exceptionally propulsive sector of our economy, the creative industry. They ask whether we as a society are capable of recognizing the greatest potential at our disposal: gifted children. They speak about our fellow citizens, children and adults, who \u201cpass under the radar,\u201d forming an invisible and thus discriminated component of our society. They recall humanity\u2019s negative impact on the natural world. The accumulation of waste is destroying the planet and making it invisible to future generations.<br \/>\nBesides highlighting problems, the member organizations also propose solutions. The many activities they implement in their day-to-day operations show the way to the creation of better conditions, opportunities and rights for the individuals and social groups to whom they are dedicated. And their many achievements prove that the invisible can be curtailed by furthering the boundaries of the visible.<br \/>\nUltimately, they pose a question to each one of us, asking whether we are aware of the aforementioned terms, whether we have an opinion about them and whether we are prepared to change ourselves, our habits and our worldview to improve the status of others.<br \/>\nThe project is part of the programme for Rijeka 2020 \u2013 European Capital of Culture<br \/>\nThe project is being co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.<br \/>\nEXHIBITION<br \/>\n<strong>VIOLINS BEYOND BORDERS\/STRADIVARI IN RIJEKA \u2013 KRESNIK AND CREMONA<\/strong><br \/>\norganizer: Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka<br \/>\nco-organizers: Consulate General of the Republic of Italy in Croatia (Rijeka), Glazbeni Festival Kvarner d.o.o. (Vodnjan)<br \/>\nexhibition conceived by: Tamara Mataija, Fausto Cacciatori, Tea Perin\u010di\u0107<br \/>\n<strong>the exhibition will remain open until February 2021<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>the Cremona violins may be viewed until 8 March 2020<\/strong><br \/>\nPart of the preliminary programme for the exhibition \u201cBorders \u2013 Between Order and Chaos\u201d includes the observance of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Franjo Kresnik (1869-1943), one of the greatest Cremonese lutherie experts of his time. Kresnik dedicated over 40 years to the study of bowed string instruments, particularly those made in the workshops of Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe Guarneri del Ges\u00f9. In his honour, instruments made by these two great luthiers will be exhibited in the Museum.<br \/>\nFranjo Kresnik\u2019s musical heritage and work will be viewed through the context of the economic, political and social circumstances of that time. Kresnik\u2019s passion, his study of Italian, and particularly Cremonese, classical violins, and his later production of instruments in his own workshop surpassed the borders that politics had imposed on the place in which he lived. He played a crucial role in the events leading to the establishment of the International School of Violin-making in Cremona, so that he was even called the school\u2019s corresponding director. He was a member of Akademija \u2013 a society of Croatian intellectuals \u2013 and a representative of the Italian Craftsmanship Association. He provided medical treatment to D\u2019Annunzio\u2019s Arditi and volunteered in the Banovina hospital in Su\u0161ak, showing in his life and work that he did not acknowledge borders, whether real or imaginary. His contemporaries described him as being Viennese by birth, a resident of Yugoslavia, but an Italian in spirit. But Franjo Kresnik, a denizen of Su\u0161ak and Rijeka, was a citizen of Europe whose activities bridged political borders and left an indelible mark on the preservation of Cremonese lutherie.<br \/>\nEXHIBITION<br \/>\n<strong>D\u2019ANNUNZIO\u2019S MARTYR \u2013 L\u2019OLOCAUSTA DI D\u2019ANNUNZIO<\/strong><br \/>\norganizer: Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka<br \/>\nexhibition conceived by: Tea Perin\u010di\u0107 and Ana-Maria Mil\u010di\u0107<br \/>\nexhibition designed by: Sanjin Kuni\u0107 and Nikolina Radi\u0107 \u0160tivi\u0107<br \/>\n<strong>the exhibition will remain open until 31 January 2021<\/strong><br \/>\nAs an introduction to the project Borders: Between Order and Chaos, which the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka is implementing as part of the European Capital of Culture 2020 programme The Age of Power, the Museum will stage an exhibition which marks the one-hundredth anniversary of D\u2019Annunzio\u2019s occupation of Rijeka on 12 September 1919.<br \/>\nThe exhibition also alludes to D\u2019Annunzio\u2019s attitude toward the women in his life, who, after ending relationships with him, were \u201cphysically and emotionally spent,\u201d just like the city of Rijeka.<br \/>\nCONCERT<br \/>\n<strong>ECC PROGRAMME \u2013 CONCERT ON KRESNIK\u2019S VIOLINS<\/strong><br \/>\nMatej Mijali\u0107 and Ivan Graziani on violin accompanied by Jelena Barbari\u0107 Mijali\u0107 on piano<br \/>\n<strong>Marble Hall of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka on 24 January 2020 at 6 p.m.<\/strong><br \/>\nIn 2013, the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka, in cooperation with the Ivan Mateti\u0107 Ronjgov Music School, launched the music-education event called the Kresnik Days. It is our wish to highlight the acoustic quality of the violins held in the Museum\u2019s Dr. Franjo Kresnik Collection. With enthusiastic assistance from teachers and students, Kresnik\u2019s Days have become an event which always attracts considerable interest.<br \/>\nMatej Mijali\u0107 and Ivan Graziani, as very young but promising pupils of the then still primary music school, performed at the First Kresnik Days.
