The Miscellaneous Collection consists of elements of spiritual and social culture, as well as those exhibits which cannot be classified under other collections. Thus, in the process of the classification of these items, no one material was dominant in relation to their function.
The collection contains musical instruments (sopile – an Istrian woodwind instrument), jewellery, decorative accessories made of precious metals or other materials, ornaments and souvenirs.
Some items have an apotropaic function, in other words are believed to be capable of averting evil or bad luck. There are also exhibits relating to the carnival tradition which has been preserved to this day in the wider area of Liburnia, Kastav and Grobnik. Among such exhibits are the masks and equipment of the Zvončari bell-ringers: krabujosnica – head dress, bačuka – club, kopice – socks, kumarak – hat).
