The Croatia Line Collection

Head: Msc. Nikša Mendeš, senior curator

The Croatia Line Collection is a newly-formed collection of the department of the history of maritime affairs of the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka. The collection was officially formed in 2012. The largest part of material in the collection was systematically obtained and ceded to the museum at the end of the 1990s and beginning of 2000, from the collection and legacy of the former Rijeka long-haul shipping company Jugolinija, i.e. from 1992 Croatia Line.
With detailed research in the following years it has been confirmed that within the Croatia Line Collection there are 4,975 items in total.
In the period from 2010-2012 a great part of the photography has been stored in acid-free folio (in total 1,600), and from the end of 2011 to the beginning of 2012, these 1,600 photographs were digitalised and prepared for processing.
The remaining photographs and negatives are still located in cardboard boxes however they are situated in the new depot on the second floor of the museum, where the micro-climate conditions are good for paper.

All the currently digitalised images (1,595) can be viewed HERE
